POSITION DESCRIPTION
In-house Optometry services for the inmate population at the United States Penitentiary (USP) and the Satellite Prison Camp (SPC) located in Inez, Kentucky.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Provide optometry exams, write prescriptions for eyeglasses as needed and recommend any other type of ophthalmic treatment deemed necessary. Evaluate and recommend treatment to the medical staff, documenting findings in the electronic medical record (EMR).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Current and valid license to practice optometry in Kentucky * One year experience * Graduate of an accredited school or program of optometry * In good standing within the optometry community * Familiar with Electronic Medical Records * Must be able to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. * Must be eligible to work in the United States, meet BOP Residency Requirements, and successfully pass required background checks.

Pay & Hours:
You would be employed on a full time casual basis and your hours of work would be according to the business (average 25-40 hrs) this would include weekends. The rate of pay is £6.08 per hour.
