Be a partner in the achievement of the store success by managing to the maximum expectations of the Standards of Performance guidelines and leading by example.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Commitment to Customer Satisfaction
Conveys a commitment to providing unsurpassed customer service through ensuring the LensCrafters lab staff utilize the Quality Manufacturing Process in the production of all eyewear.
Anticipates problems before they occur; explores underlying reasons for recurring laboratory problems; goes beyond symptoms to get at causes; strives to develop long-term solutions.
Coaching and Development
Focuses on developing the most qualified lab associates by ensuring training/coaching in the following areas:
o Quality Manufacturing Process
o Final Inspection
o Loss Prevention
o Company safety and regulatory compliance programs
o Career development of lab associates
Provides effective on the job training and guidance to team members making use of Company provided programs (i.e. Quality Manufacturing Program and Safety/Waste Disposal Programs).
Delivers clear, motivating and constructive feedback in a timely manner to all lab associates. Confronts problem performers directly and without delay; initiates appropriate disciplinary action when necessary and follow up to monitor progress.
Completes formal 90-day reviews, Quality Manufacturing Program Review Questionnaires, Earn As You Learn mini-reviews, and annual performance reviews for all lab associates.
Manpower Planning
Recruits and selects high caliber staff; is always on the lookout for promising individuals and establishes relationships with them.
Forecasts staffing needs accurately based on available information and assigns associates through the use of SMART scheduling. Quickly adjusts staffing levels up or down to meet unexpected increases or decreases in store traffic.
Standards of Performance
Able to analyze store financial data and make recommendations regarding steps, which can be implemented in the lab to improve profitability.
Strives to achieve Far Exceeds Expectations on all targets set in the following areas:
o CSAT
o % One Hour
o Remake ratio
o % Breakage
o % Training saturation
Product and Technical Knowledge
Strives to improve technical knowledge through the completion of the Quality Manufacturing Program and continually applies that knowledge in the production of all eyewear.
Performs multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and thoroughness despite time pressures and customer volume.
Utilizes product knowledge to determine the best manufacturing process for both routine and special orders to ensure the production of top quality eyewear.
Is attentive to detail with all measurements, calculations, equipment settings and defective product.
Regulatory Compliance/Safety
Ensures all Company approved lab safety programs are implemented and maintained consistently per standards, creating a safe working environment for all associates and customers.
Ensures all lab associates are appropriately trained on the safe use, storage and disposal of approved laboratory chemicals, including annual refresher training. Documents training certificates retained in personnel files. Ensures all newly hired associates receive chemical safety training as part of new hire orientation.
Leads by example in demonstrating safe work place practices including wearing safety glasses while in the lab.
Store Appearance/Maintenance
Responsible for the basic operation, cleaning and ongoing maintenance of laboratory tools and equipment by ensuring adherence to established QMP maintenance procedures and calendars.
Takes pride in the appearance of the lab, lab equipment and stockroom in terms of cleanliness and ongoing maintenance. Ensures all storage areas/equipment are labeled per Company guidelines.
Administrative/V2K Processing
Performs administrative duties to include accurate input of payroll, lab incentives and lab statistics into the V2K system as required.
Completes new hire and associate change paperwork in a timely manner such as Personnel Change Notice (PCN), Training Change Notice (TCN).
Completes and files in a timely manner all necessary store and lab paperwork thoroughly and accurately.

EDUCATION
High School Graduate or equivalent
Optical training
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in optical lab preferred
2-4 years management/supervisory experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
On feet most of day
Low, moderate and high noise levels (not to exceed standards)
